Looking Back on 2018

2018 was such an exciting time in our lives with the birth of Athena and watching her grow. Lets take a look at 2018.

Nothing much happened in January other than me starting a bullet journal. Oh, and I cried inside of Taco Bell because I was pregnant and my toppings fell off of my taco.

February was a little more exciting for us because we entered our third trimester and we were getting so close to meeting Athena Mae. In February we got all of her furniture for her nursery as well and at a good deal because Babies R Us was going out of business.

In March nesting came. I scrubbed the carpets 3 or 4 times a day, I couldn’t sit still, I just wanted to clean! We got a Costco membership and if you don’t have one you are definitely missing out. We also got maternity pictures taken by the amazing Blessed Bee Photography and you can find her website here: https://www.blessedbeewanderer.com/ she does amazing work and we highly recommend Brittany to anyone that wants amazing photos!

April came and we were one month away from having Athena! We had my baby shower at the beginning of the month and I loved spending time with family and friends. I turned 21 on April 30th and my midwife stripped my membranes to help get labor started as a present.

May 3, 2018 is the best day of my life. I gave birth to the most beautiful 8 pound 21 inch baby girl Athena Mae Robinson. She is the greatest thing to ever happen to me and I cannot imagine my life without her. At the end of the month Cody celebrated his 22nd birthday.

In June Athena done her first pageant and she won Most Photogenic, Best Dressed as well as Miss Richmond Beauty Supreme for ages 0 through 4. We also went back to Jackson for the parade and to watch fireworks!

We mainly played dress up in July. Athena also got to meet her Aunt Gabby for the first time!

In August we decided to start using cloth diapers and I am so glad we did. Not only are we saving money and helping the environment, they are also super cute! Athena also rolled over for the first time! We also took Athena on her first trip to the zoo!

If you haven’t read my blog about cloth diapers you can find it here: https://raisingtherobinsons.com/2018/11/04/cloth-diapering-101-why-we-decided-to-cloth-diaper

We also became a brand enthusiast for K & K’s Boutique who we love dearly and are now Brand Reps for use code ATHENA10 to save! You can find her here: https://www.instagram.com/kandksboutique/

We also celebrated World Breastfeeding Week by taking a photo with a lovely group of women here in Madison County organized by Brittany of Blessed Bee Photography. I have linked her site above, but here is her Facebook too: https://www.facebook.com/blessedbeewanderer/

In September we took Athena to the pumpkin patch for the first time and she got to meet Princess Cinderella! Cody and I got a sewing machine and started making little projects. We also got to go visit my friends and hang out and let them meet Athena!

In October Athena learned how to sit unassisted so then it was just a waiting game to start her on Baby Led Weaning. We also went to the Team Colton Trunk or Treat in Jackson and Athena dressed up like a chicken! We also became Brand Reps for Olive Wren who makes amazing reusable snack bags! You can use code ATHENA15 to save! Find her here: https://www.instagram.com/olivewren/

November was a busy time for us! Athena turned 6 months and started Baby Led Weaning. We moved into our new home and it is amazing. We were blessed to find such an amazing place to live and watch Athena grow up. We also picked out our very first live Christmas Tree and I made my first Thanksgiving Dinner! We also got some AMAZING milk bath photos done by Brittany at Blessed Bee Photography who I have linked above to celebrate 6 months of breastfeeding!

December was fun, because it was Athena’s first Christmas! We met Santa, went to my parents house and celebrated here! I have wrote blogs on all three go check them out! We also started our own online baby clothes boutique! Shop here: athenaandme.com

2018 has been such an amazing year for my family. We were blessed with an amazing, beautiful daughter, a beautiful home, and memories that will last a lifetime! I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for us.
